I'm at the Tate

Tate Britain is currently running an exhibition based on and around a Flickr group. Submitted entries, if accepted, will be displayed both on an online display (see below) but also on a set of screens at the gallery itself. I'm not entirely certain about my horses, thinking of withdrawing that image and replacing it with another, but the other images I've submitted I like. Less than a year of study into my new career and I'm exhibiting at the Tate. Not bad, eh?

I've Been To Gloucester

Due to a photographic emergency I ended up having to shoot a series of photographs in a day for a project. Off to Gloucester Docks with me! Luckily the condemned building I specifically wanted to photograph was still there. And some other sites worth seeing.

I Don't Do Architecture

I don't do Architecture

I don't do architectural photography. Really, I don't. If I'd planned on doing any I'd have had a large format camera and some better filters with me.

As it is this building just looked so 'right' I couldn't resist.

Rob and Jack

This one's going to mean a lot more to those who know them than to the rest but I think it's fun for all. It finally happened. I finally got Rob and Jack in the studio together.

Rob and Jack

Just head over to my flickr to see the rest. They're a lot of fun.

IvyTip Means Double Update

Firstly a new portrait added to my small collection. Which, strangely, consists entirely of redheads. Hmmm. Curious.

But more! We also shot some rather fun pictures with a rather different feel.

As always, more to see on my Flickr or my DeviantArt.

These are the culmination of a very fun project. Thanks once again to Hanka and Sarah for letting me drag you round the breakers' yard and having you damn near kill yourselves on heels.

The images are proving rapidly popular on Deviant Art and I'm delighted with the warm reception.

You've just seen the entire Flickr Set but you can also drop by my DeviantArt.

Hanka and Sarah in the Studio

Hanka and Sarah were both kind enough to let me drag them around a scrap car yard today. There are a lot of photos from that which aren't ready yet. What are ready are these studio shots we did afterwards.

I can't say thanks enough to them both for these. :)

There's more at the Flickr Set and of course on my DeviantArt.

Photoshop Assignment

University assignment. Not a lot of artistic merit but I wanted to show off a bit. We were assigned a week's work to photoshop a bad image. Interestingly this is actually 2nd year work that we're being given to see how we handle it. Different images with varying degrees of nastiness were given to different people. Unfortunately for me, Matt, who assigned the images, knows I'm a bit handy with Photoshop.

That's why I got the one with the jewllery and the awkwardly placed scratches. Still, I think I did quite well considering.

Secrets - What are you Hiding?

This is a digital test shot for a university project, an advertisement for a non-existant perfume brand. In my case 'secrets'.

Captioned 'What are you hiding?' I believe it speaks for itself, as it should. :)

Snow Day!

Yes it's a snow day. Looking out of my bedroom window I captured a few photographs of the day. I was tempted to go hunting for a perfect snow-scape but after a necessary trip to the university I realised how cold it was. I thought better of it. The view from my bedroom window is still great and worth the trade-off of warmth!

Snow Scape 2

And whilst I was looking at the snowscape a couple of equine volunteer models wondered across the field and into view, so I give you 'Sad Horses in Snow'.

Sad Horses In Snow 2

Now before anyone says anything about digital cameras and their tendancy to 'blow out' sky without capturing its' colour, I want to tell you all this. That's exactly the colour of sky I see right now. England is grey. Let's just be realistic about these things.
